This is a news item included for the students in the Instructional Design course where I did my practicum. I introduced the students to www.scoopit.com (see link below). I love the site and have several collections, or "magazines" on it.

[From Susan: Yesterday Ruth and I were discussing ways to organize content for students, and she prepared the following concerning a tool you might want to meet.]
Scoop-It! (www.scoopit.com) is gives the user the ability to curate their own “magazine” collection of articles. I have students do article reviews and direct them to my ScoopIt! site to select articles. It’s simple to use. As you come across articles that you want to save and share, you simply “scoop” them by adding them to your site. The website offers an easy to install and use toolbar tool that you can click to add the website you’re on to your ScoopIt! site. These can be organized into different topics; for example, I have separate topics for :
Cultural Diversity (http://www.scoop.it/t/cultural-diversity),
Developmental Psychology (http://www.scoop.it/t/developmental-psychology),
Success and Leadership (http://www.scoop.it/t/success-and-leadership), and
Computer Concepts (http://www.scoop.it/t/computer-concepts)
You can also follow other users. There are some fascinating collections on the site. Dennis O’Conner has an extensive collection of articles on e-learning and online teaching: http://www.scoop.it/t/e-learning-and-online-teaching
