EDU761: Collaborative Communities for e-Learning
Collaboration is important is effective online learning. This allows students to not only learn from the instructor, but to learn from each other as they collaborate on projects and participate in discussions in order to critically think about the material and how they experience it. "Engaged learning stimulates learners to actively participate in the learning situation, and thus gain the most knowledge from being a member of on online learning community." (Conrad & Donaldson, pg 5)
This course introduced us to activities designed to help students learn from one another. Activities included collaboratively created tip sheets, synchronous meetings with our group, and Personal Learning Networks to help us expand our professional partnerships.
We try out different tools in creating our course. My portfolio for this class is in Google sites. Please use this link to check out the site: Ruth Grayberg's Portfolio for 761 - Collaborative Communities.
