Finding Resources
_ Students learn differently so sometimes material must be presented differently. Teachers are always looking for resources for new ideas and different perspectives. Diigo is a Web 2.0 tool where people can share bookmarks and join groups to share ideas.
Another great tool is the ability to create your own Custom Search Engine in Google. This allows you to hand-pick the websites to be used in the search in order to narrow the focus of the search. It's like the perfect marriage of a directory and a search engine! Here's the one I created: Education and Web 2.0
In my quest, I also did a self-paced learning module on evaluating websites. The fact that it was self-paced didn't seem to bother me, but I learned a lot about the relationship between working alone and content. If the student perceives the content as "difficult" then working alone is not as satisfying as working with a group. I made it through this one!
